The Parent Hub on Suffolk County Council's website, is a source of parenting advice and support for parents and carers to help with their child's development. 

It covers lots of areas including:

  • Finding and choosing childcare - information on the types of childcare available, finding a place for your child and what questions you should ask childcare providers.

  • Children's Health and Children's Centres - information about children's centres and children's health services including health visiting, school nursing and other specialist services.

  • The Local Offer - details of services available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

  • Books and resources for parents. - including activities to complete with your child, recommended library books and getting free books from Bookstart.

  • National organisations providing support for parents and carers - a list of websites and organisations offering support to parents and carers in healthy living, dealing with behaviour and protecting a child from abuse.

  • Suffolk Family Information Service - information around finding childcare, the free early education entitlement and other family services for 0-19 year olds.

  • Work experience and careers information - how to start a career with Suffolk County Council through a choice of work experience, apprenticeships, internships and graduate opportunities for young people.

  • Schools - including a list of schools in Suffolk, term dates, school attendance, school meals, school travel and applying for a school place.

  • Local support for parents and carers - local services and advice in Suffolk covering childcare, schools and child mental health services.

  • Parenting Programmes - a list of parenting support programmes for parents and carers in Suffolk and how to book onto a parenting programme.
