Who was Brian James Lloyd
This statement and the wording was provided by Brian’s family:
Dad lived a full and impactful life. Born just before the Second World War, he recalled the Coventry bombings from his childhood. Growing up in the West Midlands, he later returned to campaign politically. Although he didn't attend university, he became an apprentice bookbinder and eventually an archive conservator, gaining recognition as a Fellow of the Society of Archivists and significantly influencing the industry. Known for his playful, mischievous humour, Dad was also stubborn, particularly when dealing with his anxiety. He served as a Parish Councillor for Elmswell and stood for the borough council in Eastbourne, where his efforts paved the way for future success. A socially aware and person-centred individual, he was always eager to help others. In retirement, Dad inherited some money and enjoyed traveling with Mum. Despite bladder issues and the challenges of caring for Mum during her dementia, he remained supported by family, friends, and services. Above all, he was driven by a strong sense of social justice.
